Thank you, Kohl's!!! I was selected as a store winner in Kohl's Dept Stores Kids Who Care Scholarship Program in May 2010!!! I was given a Gift Certificate (already spent, of course!) and now I am being considered for a regional scholarship worth $1000, among many other amazing store winners around the country! This is a great honor and I am proud to be a young changemaker!!!

Photo Update Many thanks to my friends Denyse Tontz ("Big Time Rush") and Chase Ellison ("Tooth Fairy") for being my
guests at my school's assembly to inspire the students to read, read, read this summer!!! Denyse & Chase were awesome plus they took time after school to sign tons of autographs! Everyone at my school appreciated your taking the time to come out to make this a very special assembly as few celebs make it to our school!

Playathon Fundraiser This past Saturday, Alana's Achievers hosted a Hasbro Games Playathon which raised $430 for the Kourtney Najjar Transplant Fund. Thanks to all who helped out!
Kourtney is 7 years old and awaiting a multi-organ transplant. The cost of an intestinal/pancreas transplant can exceed $1,000,000 and that is only the beginning. Even with health coverage, Kourtney's family faces significant medical expenses related to her transplant. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. The cost of post transplant medication can range from $2,000 to $5,000 per month -- and they are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.

News Alana will be a celebrity guest at Skateland in Northridge California on September 12th. Come Skate With L.A. in honor of Grand Parents Day. All proceed will go to Living Advantage Inc.; a non-profit organization serving foster care youth.

Yesterday Alana was a guest speaker at a San Diego Summer Day Camp. She spoke to a group of 50 kids about education, reading and youth activities and happily signed autographs for all.
